Presenters

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) and Conference Committee is interested in hearing from any LPC who would like to present on a specific topic at the Annual Confernece. If you have a topic which would serve to enhance the professional development of LPCs, please submit the information in the form, below.

Your submission will go to the PDC and Conference Chairs, who will review your proposal to assure it meets the NBCC guidelines for content and presenter qualifications.

If your presentation is not accepted for this conference, we may still consider your presentation for First Friday Webinar/Regional Training Opportunities.

  • Title: 70 character limit 
  • Abstract: 1000 character limit
  • Bio: 1000 character limit

Presenter Requirements:

·         The primary presenter is the contact person and is responsible for notifying all other presenters of acceptance, scheduling, and any other information provided by LPCANC 
·         A presenter (primary or co-presenter) may be listed on no more than two accepted Conference sessions
·         Presenters must be available to present any time during the conference (October 25 - 27, 2018)
·         Presenters, once accepted, must submit all documentation by stated deadlines
·         All presenters must register for conference by August 01, 2018

How many times is the same presentation offered?
Each Session is presented one time during the Conference.

Tips:
·         Attendees have many programs to select from and often choose those that have well written descriptions
·         Attendees desire brief reviews of research that support the concepts presented
·         Prepare your proposal in a word document, and use the grammar/spell check before copying and pasting into the online form
·         LPCANC is seeking advanced presentations that provide in-depth knowledge or skills beyond the introductory or basic level
·         Save and print a copy of your submission for your reference and records


How will my proposal be reviewed?

·         Proposals are blind reviewed
·         A committee of professional counselors will review proposals
·         Proposals will be rated using the following rubric and criteria

Scoring Rubric:
1 = Poor, 2 = Average, 3 = Strong

Relevance to needs and goals of the counseling profession
Relevance to conference theme: Counseling & Integrative Medicine: Enhancing Outcomes Through Collaborative Care
Innovative and cutting edge or proven and effective evidence-based practices
Organization and clarity
Clearly stated and appropriate learning objectives
Well-developed presentation to assure accomplishment of learning objectives
Consideration of  Diversity and Ethics
Substantive content to be covered in presentation
Qualification and expertise of the presenter(s) in relationship to the topic
