Victoria E. Kress, Ph.D./LPCC-S (OH), NCC, CCMHC

Victoria E. Kress is the director of the clinical mental health and addictions counseling programs at Youngstown State University, and she is the Director of Advocacy for the National Board of Certified Counselors. She served as a governor appointed member of the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, and served as the chair of the Counselor Professional Standards Committee. She has been the recipient of over 30 counseling awards, most of which for her advocacy, leadership, scholarship, and mentorship initiatives. She received the CACREP award for excellence in advocacy; the ACES’s Distinguished Mentor, Leadership, and Professional Standards Awards; the ACA’s Counselor Educator Advocacy, Distinguished Mentor, Professional Service, Humanitarian and Caring Person, and the Government Relations Awards; and the OCA Counselor of the Year and Leadership Awards.   She is a past president of Chi Sigma Iota International and the Ohio Counseling Association, and she is a past ACA Midwest Region chair. Over the years she has been an advocate for issues such as counselor Medicare reimbursement, consistent counselor preparation and licensing standards, consumer’s access to substance abuse treatment, and children’s access to mental health services. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has co-authored 5 books on counseling both adults and children.

Dr. Fanike-Kiara Olugbala Young, LCSW, DBH, CCH, MAC

Dr. Fanike-Kiara Olugbala Young, LCSW, DBH, CCH, MAC is a Doctor of Behavioral Health, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master Addiction Counselor, Certified Colon Hydrotherapist and Reiki Master that specializes in behavioral health integration, training, mental health, and mental illness.  Her passion is the healthy development of adolescent females and women physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.  She strives to promote the integration of health care within medical clinics, healthcare facilities and human services agencies via consulting projects through Behavioral Health Consultants Group as well as in her private practice, Keys to Women’s Wellness.  Dr. Fanike utilizes alternative methods such as Reiki, Detoxification and Aromatherapy as compliments to her therapy practice. Dr. Fanike completed her doctoral culminating research on a comparison of behavioral health integration readiness levels between allopathic and naturopathic medical clinics.  Her current publications include Social Work with African American Males: Health, Mental Health and Social Policy “Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope:  Stress, Coping and Problem Behaviors among Young African American Males” (2010).  Dr. Fanike has traveled internationally to China, India, Brazil, Ghana, Nigeria, Costa Rica and a host of other countries to examine and assist with improving the health care systems, specifically the system of mental health.  Dr. Fanike is presenting as the Keynote Speaker on The Holistic Integrative Approach: Shifting from treating to curing as well as a breakout workshop on Building Healthcare Partnerships: Collaborating to close the healthcare gap.
